X-Rays

Kid Friendly X Rays

X-rays are an important diagnostic tool which aids the dentist in making the correct diagnosis.

Dental x-rays may be taken yearly or more often if the dentist is tracking the progress of a dental treatment. It is recommended to take x-rays on all new patients so that the new dentist gets a clear picture of their dental health. This is important especially if you don’t have x-rays from the previous dentist.

Dental x-rays involve radiation but with digital x-rays the exposure levels are very low and are considered safe for children and adults. However pregnant women or those who believe to be pregnant should avoid getting into contact with all types of radiation due to risk to the developing fetus. Especially in the first trimester of pregnancy. It is important to first tell your dentist if you believe you are pregnant.

At TinySmile Dentistry we use digital x-rays with very low levels of radiation to identify problems like tooth decay, impacted teeth, and cavities.
